About the Artist
Olivia Hart has been drawing and painting since she was a young child. She is self-taught and kept her passion as a hobby while she focused her artistic expression through writing. Earning a double major in English and Film from the University of Toronto and a certificate in Magazine Journalism at Ryerson University, Olivia was a newspaper journalist for over a decade. Starting at the Toronto Star as a researcher and ending her career at the National Post as a writer and editor until her first child was born.
It was her children and husband who inspired and encouraged her to start drawing again. Several years ago she took an introductory painting class at the Oakville Art Society and for two years was mentored by plein air artist, Win Henstock. Since then Olivia has been painting for family, friends and commissions only. She lives in Oakville, Ontario in beautiful Canada with her family and you will often find her hiking in the forest behind her home with her dog Hugo.
